If the test participants live in different cities or states, we offer the option to split the DNA test kit and send the components to different addresses. Our laboratory will process the samples once they arrive at the lab, and each kit component is barcoded individually to ensure accuracy.

To request a split kit, you can provide the following information in the “Additional Information” section during checkout:

“Please send the alleged father’s kit to <Alleged father’s name and shipping address>, and send the child’s kit to <Child’s name and shipping address>.”

An extra shipping fee of $10 will be automatically applied for each additional address within the US. Split kits will be shipped out using USPS First Class Package Service.

If the alleged father is not available for testing, testing another relative can be considered with a DNA grandparent test, DNA sibling test, DNA aunt/uncle test, or DNA cousin test.  It’s important to note that while these tests can be helpful for establishing biological relationships, they are not as powerful as the DNA paternity test when it comes to establishing paternity. If the alleged father is available for testing, the DNA paternity test should be considered over the other types of relationship tests.

No, there is no age limit for paternity testing. The test can be performed on individuals of any age, including newborns, children, and adults. You can perform the paternity test as soon as the child is born or at any point later in their life.

If you need a DNA paternity test for legal purposes, such as child custody or support, immigration, or inheritance claims, you will need a legal paternity test. The at-home paternity test kit is not designed for legal purposes, as it does not follow the strict chain of custody requirements needed for legal admissibility.

Both private and legal paternity tests offer equally accurate results. The only difference between them is the method of sample collection.

Private paternity tests are done discreetly, with sample collection done in the privacy of your own home. Legal paternity tests, on the other hand, require a more formal process that follows strict chain-of-custody procedures. This means you’ll need to attend an appointment for sample collection with an unbiased third party. During the appointment, you’ll need to provide a passport photograph and two government-issued IDs, and your fingerprints will be taken. The results of the legal paternity test are legally-admissible documents that can be used in court.

No, the test kits do not expire, and you can use them at any time. However, it’s important to note that once you collect the samples, you should return them for testing within 3 months. Before sealing the specimen envelope, make sure the samples are completely dry. As long as the samples are dry, they can last for at least 3 months or more at room temperature.

Your paternity test results report will indicate one of two possible outcomes based on the comparison of the DNA samples provided:

• If the alleged father is not the biological father, the test report will display a probability of paternity of 0%.
• If the alleged father is the biological father, the test report will display a probability of paternity greater than 99.999%.
